Chennai-based Global Sports Commerce raised $80 Mn from Emerald Media Invests in its latest round of funding. The sports tech company also has offices in 10 global locations, with 13 subsidiaries.
Rajesh Kamat, (Emerald Media MD) said, ‘the introduction of digital technology into sports change the way fans look at a given sport. It amplified fans’ appreciation of the sport, and parallelly created a revenue source, besides the games themselves. We believe that a lot more can be brought into this space, and our recent investment in GSC is rightly heading in that direction’.
The latest investment allows GSC to further expand its reach globally, and conquer the ‘Sports Tech Segment’ globally.
GSC launched its subsidiary, Techfront in 2003. It provides end-to-end integrated technology solutions for brands, stadiums, and media & entertainment industries. GSC also serves and handles organizations that hold various rights, stadiums, and brands.
Techfront is widely credited developing world’s first UHD 4K HD. It is the first globally compliant LED Technology and is certified by both UEFA and FIFA.
